Cat Yokom portrait
Hi! My name is Cat Yokom and I’d love to tell you a little bit about me!

I’ve been a real estate professional helping home buyers and sellers since 2002. I believe that everyone in ANY price range deserves to have a great home buying/selling experience and I’m committed to making that happen.

I grew up on the south side of Fargo and attended Fargo South High School. In 1979 I married Bill Yokom (from Fargo North High) and instantly became an Air Force wife, which I loved! Traveling the world with my husband and two sons, our unique and very mobile lifestyle gave me a perspective and understanding of the demands and pressures associated with a move on all members of the family. Bill retired from his successful military career in 2000, and since then we have called Barnesville, MN home because it’s a little closer to our beloved cabin on Lake Lizzie where we spend as many summer days as possible.

Being a strong proponent of the first time home buyer, I “walk the walk” by volunteering my time at the The Village Family Service Center, facilitating a portion of the Homebuyer Education Program several times throughout the year. Over the years I have assisted many first time home buyers (including one son and one nephew) through this exciting time in their lives.

I’m a member of the Fargo Moorhead Area Association of Realtors, the Minnesota Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce. I am also a graduate the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo and Barnesville Leadership courses. I believe my involvement in the community is critical to keeping me up to date in this ever-changing industry.

I have a strong background in Relocation services and have helped many transferees navigate the details of moving their families across the country and around the world. My expertise comes from many years of experience working with several national and international Relocation agencies and their transferring clients.

Thanks to my exceptionally loyal clientele, the foundation of my business stems from personal referrals and repeat buyers and sellers. My philosophy of working hard to ensure you a stress-free transaction will hopefully make you a repeat client also!

Here are some fun facts you probably didn’t know about me. And perhaps you don’t care. That’s OK, but this is my website, so I’m going to post them anyway

  • I am 100% Norwegian and dang proud of it!
  • I love cooking shows and I love to cook when there’s no pressure…that’s mostly confined to lake season!
  • I love to laugh and make people laugh. I love comedians and jokes. When I was a kid, a great day was one when I heard a new joke. I forget them a lot more easily now!
  • I was the first runner-up in the Miss Teenage North Dakota Pageant in 1975. Thankfully, they didn’t have a ‘talent’ portion in the competition!
  • We lived in Oslo, Norway for 3 years and our youngest son was born there…we did not name him Ole.
